Robert-- Ummmmm, just visiting from another planet? Your doubts about 56K have been addressed about a gazillion times here and elsewhere. 1) x2 technology is, and at some point Rockwell technology will be, software upgradable to whatever standard is eventually set. 2) Plenty of contributors to this thread are already using x2, and are extremely pleased with the results. They generally get throughput of 45K or better, and yes, they notice a big difference. 3) Dunno how most people will feel about it, but like Scrapps, if I were buying a computer right now I'd be sure to get one with a x2 modem.
