Why Yeshua? The New Testament was written in Greek and Jesus' name has, for the last two thousand years, always been Jesus from Iesus in Greek. If you want to use the original New Testmaent name, use Iesus. It is, however, just as silly to use Iesus as Yeshua in an English speaking nation. Maybe you believe it releases some magical power when concepts are written in Hebrew letters or transliterated with English letters? Several on this board who have made an idol out of Hebrew and modern Talmudic Judaism, think there's some kind of magic in using transliterations of Hebrew. It is supposed to be some great method of deceiving the Jews into believing in Jesus. The Gospel admonition, "not by the power and wisdom of words, but by the power of the Cross", has been removed from their memory. One particular fellow said that it's a way to show respect to Jews. Strangely, this same fellow has shown no similar "language" respect to any other national or linguistic groups on SI. He obviously does not believe in showing respect to other nationalities or religious groups. Again, it's obviously a fad inspired by the tremendous Jewish power all around us.
It's wonderful to approach each culture and ethnic group using their own cultural peculiarities and language. But this is America where we speak English! Don't you think you guys would have a little sensitivity to the English speaking people. And besides, most American Jews do not know the Hebrew language. So why try to impress them by using Hebrew words and other mumbo jumbo about which the majority of American Jews know nothing. Another method used by this group of Hebrew language iconographers is to call their pastors rabbis, their Church buildings Synagogues, and to totally disassociate themselves from the Body of Christ--the Church. Also, how about the other ninety seven percent of American who are not Jews? Do you think that they have a right to the same consideration? Maybe you're a respecter of persons and think you should totally disregard the cultural and linguistic sensitivities of other nationalities? The Scriptures clearly tell us not to be respecters of persons, right? When we meet a Russian-American, we should start using a few Russian words. When we meet a Bantu-American, throw out a little swahili. When we meet Germans, a few religious words in German. When we meet Italians, a few in Italian. When we meet a Buddhist, a few religious signs for Buddha. When we meet a Moslem, a few for Mohammad.
It makes just as much sense for a Christian to do this, as to use Hebrew to impress a few pagan non-Christian Jews. In fact, it makes far more spiritual sense since these groups represent a far greater percentage of our population than the 3% Jews. (Maybe the Hebrew language iconographers are racist, and consequently believe that Jews should be treated speciall in this age of grace and the New Covenant? I suspect that this may be closer to the truth.)
It is very obvious that a satanic fad or a form of mass hysteria is sweeping the Church and the world. It is now the "in thing" and becoming politically correct to bow to Judaism with a few Hebrew words. It's simply a way to show obeisance to the masters and overlords of the degenerate post-Christian culture that Jewish Hollywood and the Jewish news media has created in America.
Christian culture and civilization have the richest spiritual and intellectual food available to mankind. Christianity started in the Garden of Eden. Abraham is our champion of faith. Jesus is our Crucified and Resurrected Saviour and Lord. The Apostles are the foundation of our Kingdom, with Christ as the Chief Corner stone. the Church--the Body of Christ--for the last two thousand years has nourished and fed the children of the Kingdom through the Holy Spirit and the Word of God. The Christian Church, the Kingdom of God, is the fullness of the Body of Christ on this earth. It is through Christ and in the Church that man enters into this glorious Kingdom. It is truly a sign of our decadent age when men leave the spiritual and intellectual riches of their own house, the Church and Body of Christ, to seek enlightenment in the garbage cans of the world. |
