FREMONT, Calif., March 24 /PRNewswire/ -- ESS Technologies Inc announced today it has received design wins from two of China's major consumer electronic manufacturers. The commitments are for ESS' new ES3210 single chip video CD solution, which features integrated RAM, new power management, and smaller size that makes it ideal for portable video CD applications or where reduced board space is desirable.
The design wins come from Nanjing Panda Electronics Company Ltd., one of the top three manufacturers for television and other consumer electronic products in China, and Xiamen Solid Electronics Ltd., one of the largest Chinese name brand VCR manufacturers and currently a leading supplier of video CD players.
ESS' line of video CD chip solutions deliver state-of-the-art features that are desired by the consumer market. The ES3210 offers full video CD 2.0 support, zoom control, video image scaling, an advanced integrated power management system, and SmartStream(TM), which enables a scratched or damaged disk to be played. ESS uses its high-level integration capabilities to add more logic functions on the same chip solution, thereby reducing the system cost over competitive solutions by reducing the number of external components.
