Elliot, here is more icing on the cake for SCKT, SCKTW. Motorola, their partner turned in some great earnings and the lion's share of it was in their cellphone wireless division. "Turnaround at Motorola?
Wireless phone and computer-chip maker Motorola (Nasdaq: MOT) posted second-quarter earnings of $273 million, or $0.44 a share, before charges, versus a measly $6 million, or $0.01 per share, last year. Analysts had predicted an average EPS of $0.41, with forecasts ranging from $0.33 to $0.45. Including charges, earnings came in at $0.33 a share compared with a loss of $2.22 in the same year-earlier quarter. Revenues gained 7% to $7.5 billion from $7.0 billion a year ago.
Motorola attributed the year-over-year improvement to "good growth" in semiconductor sales as well as "very significant growth" in sales of digital wireless phones. In addition, the company also benefited from a recovery in Asian markets and its profit-improvement programs. CEO Christopher Galvin said the company expects "improving economic conditions throughout much of the world, led by Asia and Europe." He added that the company is pleased with the progress it has made and the success of its manufacturing consolidation, cost reduction, and restructuring programs."
I'm ready to see SCKT quarter revenues and profit. They have reported previously margins of 59% and increasing revenue and earnings improvement every quarter since their inception in 1995. SCKTW is now at an ask of $1/2 and is sure to be a double to a triple. I'm picking up both tomorrow along with what I already have. This is a great short and long term play!
