I never want to punch anyone in the nose when I am assaulted verbally in 3-D or cyberspace. No fantasies of physical retaliation at all. But I do feel a very strong urge to respond in kind, which I manage to suppress 99.9% of the time.

I taught my kids to do the same as well. For me, there is a world of difference between saying -- "That was a stupid thing to do" and "You are stupid." In the first instance, the act was stupid; in the second instance, the person is irremediably stupid. "Stupidity" characterizes his/her very essence.

But sometimes I fantasize about really letting loose...

Dunderpate! Poophead! Birdbrain! Clodpoll! Numbskull! Ninnyhammer! Boob! Sap! Jerk! Dork! Simp! Chimp! Chucklehead! Scum! Dung! Ordure! Poopadoop!

Ahh...now I feel a lot better...<g>
