The "yourworldnet..." site was pretty good. Some typos, and we've gotten closer on some of the numbers, but it's a very reasonable approach. The precession cycle is closer to 23,000 years rather than 26,000.

I see some confusion on this thread between flipping of the magnetic poles (which happens occasionally, most recently about 780,000 years ago) and an actual flip of the planet on its axis, like the spinning globe described in the experiment. The forces involved are too large, and the planet too weak, for such an excursion. That trick works only for comparatively tiny objects, and would not if the interiors were spinning liquid (as the Earth's interior is).
