Suppose a payment is screwed? Who does the consumer call? Even if the bank has it's own customer service they would need access to both TransPoint and CheckFree complete systems

Yes, and CKFR does allow a bank to hook into the information for bill payment resolution and TP is changing its model to accomadate the same thing. Once again, if the bank has the warehouse they can see nearly everything about the payment except how/when the money went to the vendor, which is an easy tie into CKFR and someday TP. Whats more, if the bank takes care of paying itself for "on-us" bills likes credit cards then they don't need anybody.
