Interesting article, but note the wording:

"It's an implementation change, not a philosophical one.... It's what you have to do," he said, referring to Birck.

It would have gone over much much better if he had stated:

"It's what you want to do,"

He effectively said that he doesn't want to move in this direction. Don't you think?
