Incyte has LifeProt, Celera--GeneTag, and
Gene Logic is rolling out their Flow-Through
chip soon...yes very exciting stuff, if a
little mind-boggling for me still.

I was a little confused about the Flow-Through
chip over the last 24hrs--the page in GLGC's
annual report was stuck with the next page,
and my old brokerage house report on GLGC
did not talk about proteins: But the annual
says "the chip may be useful in analyzing
interactions between two proteins, between
proteins and DNA, or between proteins and
small molecules".

Cool, hope it works!

Oh, I also have a quick answer to my query about
the importance of single base changes:
7/8/99 A report in the July 9 issue of the Proceedings of the National Academy of Sciences from the University of Chicago shows that a single amino acid change in a viral protein called ICPO stops the herpes virus from entering the nervous system...

okay...I am impressed now...
