Apparently the "morning after" effect is taking place. However, if we look at some of the potential candidates that have been mentioned in the past postings then I do adhere to the principle "if there is smoke, quite possibly there is fire " Let's us consider news from yesterday about the settlement with ISS. Why the change from only two months ago ?????

As for IBM / Symantec. I don't quite buy into this idea about IBM acquiring NETA. Unless it is a long term play to corner the market with Symantec ? How about CISCO ? Well, the intellectual property or brains behind much of the technology no longer resides ant NETA. CISCO buys R&D and intellectual property not products for resell.....Which leaves us with Computer Associates....And most people in the software industry understands how CA runs the business....Purchase Product technology at a low price and then....use marketing and entry level sales people to hammer the phones....milk the profits so to speak....This is quite possibly is a candidate and they are still cash rich...Let us just leave out Microsoft....if they were broken up into 4 companies quite possibly a candidate for aquiring but not now...

So...has anyone been looking at the TMIC ? Shares are now being traded as ADR on the NASDAQ....This is the 3rd competitor of NETA....I am placing a couple of bets in that area and still taking a what and see attitude with NETA....

Network Associates Inc., the No. 1 maker of security software, said it settled a patent lawsuit against rival ISS Group Inc. that was intended to block ISS from selling its flagship product. The settlement has no adverse effect on either company's business or finances, the companies said in a joint statement. Terms weren't disclosed. A little more than a year ago, Network Associates sued ISS Group, asking a federal court to bar its rival from selling its RealSecure software. RealSecure detects hackers and other unauthorized users who break into computer systems. Shares of Network Associates jumped $1.44, or 8%, to close at $19.50, on speculation that the company will be acquired by a larger competitor. ISS Group fell $1 to close at $37. Both trade on Nasdaq.
