I recall John Bollinger on CNBC recently reciting a statistic something like this:

If over the last 50 years you had invested $1000 each May and withdrawn it each October your money would have grown to $10,000.

The same $1000 invested October/May over the same period would have grown to $100,000.

(I think I got that right. Might have been June/November.)
