How about a IBM "Palm" PDA/phone - made in Japan due in Oct '99

IBM also develops smart cards , but look at this update to its line of PDAs :

=====
" IBM Japan Ltd. said it is developing a personal digital
assistant (PDA) featuring built-in personal handyphone system (PHS) functions, as
an addition to its WorkPad range of PDA products.

This was revealed at a May 11 press briefing held to announce the launch of another
new WorkPad model, the WorkPad c3.

The PHS-capable PDA should be ready for release as early as October, according to
IBM Japan.

WorkPad products are basically Japanese versions of the "Palm" series of PDAs made
and marketed in the United States by 3Com Corp. The one major problem is that they
lack the best communications features, and these types of features are becoming
indispensable for PDA products. "
