Scumbria,

<AMD is currently shipping the world's fastest x86 microprocessor to OEM's. This stock should be trading at $30. Tad seems to be the only analyst around who is not comatose.>

I agree with you on a lot of 10,000 foot perspectives but on this one I would probably point the finger to Jerry's operating style than to comatose analysts.

Just think of what Jerry said in yesterday's conf call. He had plenty of good news and instead of focussing on that he coudn't restrain from blaming or taking potshots at Intel when he had a chance and I don't think that makes analysts comfortable with AMD. AMD has to show, or at least give an impression, that they are the masters of their destiny. On the other hand, if you heard the Intel conference call, Paul and Andy clearly in control of the situation - to the point that they got away with blatant lie of calling competition related weak results a "seasonally weak quarter".

Intel had a weaker than expected quarter and is staring at an uncertain future - delayed products and increased competition - but after the conf call the stock goes up. That is the power of being in control of the situation.

I am not dumping on Jerry - I think the man has strengths in a lot of areas - but he shouldn't be the guy who should be talking to the investment community. IMHO, AMD needs a more polished and stable CEO or President who does that job. That's one big reason I was disappointed to see Atiq go. AMD may find a good technology manager to replace Atiq but what they need more urgently is someone who can contain Jerry.

Just my 2 cents.

Chuck
