Gaugs, I think her carport is a tear down deal. The roof is sagging and there's no snow load? 6 inches of wet snow will cure that sag. Putting a good beam under rotting trusses or joists is a waste of a beam.

I think the guy she's dealing with is fishing for a sucker.
