RE: " They need to hunker down and COMPETE acorss the board with Intel."

You are letting your fears rule. As these things go I think Raza's leaving was handled in the best way possible; no matter what the circumstances were that prompted his leaving.

Half the criticisms you make in your post come from hindsight....no one really knew on this thread that intc had so discounted prices and that the oems had cut so much of their business with AMD that it was stuck with a large surplus of chips until AFTER it was announced by AMD. I suspect AMD reacted as fast as it could.....but after the first quarter who would believe that they would have too many chips instead of too few.

Besides what is intc doing so right. The earnings report they gave would have been good for AMD but it sucked for intc. Forget the whisper number, they did not even make the analysts consensus eps number.......a firm as big as intc, UNBELIEVABLE!!! Intc cut one and everyone (the analysts and talking heads) yesterday AM were trying to put the best possible spin on it. Dan Niles was maybe the only exception. Had Barrett not promised that "prosperity is just around the corner", intc would have plummeted. Instead intc will languish in its trading range for another 6 months. You think this is good execution?

AMD and intc are at war and there are going to be more casualties (screwups) in the coming months. Its inevitable and it won't be pretty. And AMD, being the underdog, will take the worst of it at least initially. The worst I can say about Sanders is that he is crazy for taking on this fight. It would be a lot easier to pull a NSM. Just my opinion.
