My win98 has been working real well lately (I say as I run for cover). However, I didn't realize this a couple weeks ago when my internet pages weren't updating automatically. Any site I went to I had to hit the refresh button to get the current page. I'd swear that it had been working OK before, and thinking thusly I installed a Drive Image clone and spent about two hours bringing it up to speed. I did this without first checking whether the cloned OS was having the same problem. Well, it was. Very perturbed and irritated. I called RoadRunner support and told the tech guy he wouldn't figure this one out (adds incentive and makes 'em feel special when they do). He said go to Tools/Internet Options and the General tab. In the Temporary Internet Files section click on Settings. See the choices under Check For Newer Versions Of Stored Pages. Select "Every Visit To The Page". The upshot: He was the hero and I felt silly. The sledge hammer keeps me in shape though.
