I don't know whether it will go sky high. It is already traded in London and Hongkong, and the stock is a heavyweight. But the added market should attract new buyers, so it surely should rise a bit - U.S. fund managers will buy in a part.

One drawback is that it is not (yet) included in national indices like S&P because it is not a U.S. based company.

HSBC is then tradable almost 24 hours round the world.

I don't think that employees have the first access. But at least employees should be treated equally to common people.
(This clearly does not include employee option plans which may be introduced separately).
