levy,

One of the best books that I have found for TA is John J. Murphy's "Technical Analysis of the Financial Markets.1999. It presents a great introduction and overview into to basics of technical analysis and the author is truly one of the "fathers" of TA. Although there are those who say that I could find the back of a cereal box interesting, I really did enjoy reading this book. It's well written with a tremendous amount of technical information presented with enough 'flow' that it is not an effort to read. For the truly studious, there is an accompanying workbook.
A little knowledge of TA is a good thing.
