Bible Sales Beyond Grave Spark Police Probe

LONDON (Rooters) - British police are investigating a ''Christian Bookshop''
that is sending bills to dead people for bibles, trading standards officers said
Wednesday.

Chris Tinkles, a trading standards manager in southern England, said the
company had sent invoices to people who had recently died, demanding
payment for bibles and a book called ''Jesus of the Holy Land.''

''It's a scam. There is no evidence of an order being placed. There is no
evidence of books being delivered,'' Tinkles told Rooters.

The outstanding debt was put at $40, accompanied by a demand to the
estates of the dead for prompt payment.

British Police are said to be on the look-out for DSGumby, veteran of the Flambe Thread on SI.
