As we get closer to PLRX's IPO more details about the firm's strategy will be revealed. PLRX has marketing arrangements in place with AOL and YHOO. They also have the alliance with NEWS Corporation that's launching a new healthcare network. E-Group has A LOT of wired customers that are good candidates for many of Benchmark's e-commerce company offerings...eg. E-Loan's online mortgages and now PLRX's online drugstore products. Tenet and Health South are HUGE and can use multiple online and offline marketing mechanisms to drive traffic to PLRX. Soon IMO PLRX may partner with a large national offline Pharmacy (like a Walgreens) and possibly a national PBM. There are many discussions going on and we'll only hear about things when deals are finalized and official. I feel that AMZN may be spreading itself too thin -- and they still have NOT demonstrated to investors that they are any closer to profitability now than they were many quarters ago. I like purchasing books and CDs from AMZN but I tend to go to other places to purchase other items online. drugstore.com's relationships with Rite-aid and General Nutrition are SMART and could really pay off, IMO. The online drugstore marketplace is evolving and is very complex. It will be interesting to see how all this plays out. Stay tuned...PLRX may surprise you in the months and years ahead <G>.
