A boy who studied under the Dali Lama in Lhasa during the 40s wrote a series of books in the early 60s about his experiences in the monastery. In one book, In the Cave of the Ancients, he recounts an experience where he and about a dozen monks visited a mountain that was several days' walk. These monks went there rarely, but the place had been known for many years. There, he says, was a small entrance to a cave which led to a giant artificial chamber filled with very advanced technology, including lights that came on automatically and had no visible power source, and strange devices that they could only guess at the purpose and function.

He further relates that the monks all agreed that this was from the Old World and had been hidden there many thousands of years ago during the great war that destroyed the first civilization.

Of course, this ties in with some of the passages in the ancient Indian texts...
