Look at Yahoo VLNC posts # 2710, 2740 and 2771 from July 1998.

10K hype

....... This thread is fascinating for the study in how certain pro-VLNC posters play on basic human emotions -- principally 1. greed and 2. the human tendency to embrace commonness -- to sustain investment in the company. The same phenomena to a different degree was at work in Nazi Germany. The VLNC thread answers unhappily but resoundingly the question: could it happen again?

I'll tell you this mooter, I do not stand to gain wealth by VLNC's failure. I will genuinely be surprised if it does succeed. Maybe it will. All the rules of investing that I've learned point rather dramatically against success for all of the reasons I've stated. I'll probably continue to respond to egregious cases of statements that I view as intending to mislead or subject to a vastly different interpretation, or otherwise misguided.

Its unfortunate that your investment in VLNC isn't working out for you but its not your loss that is troublesome. You would be right there with the blind faithful in Jonestown in Guyana in 1978 and the sad group of S.Cal zealots in 1997 who destroyed themselves following the Hale-Bopp comet. They wouldnt have recognized their condition either. You refuse to use your own head and think, for whatever reason. With you it always comes down to "hype over a 10K" and a cute empty phrase.
