If I remember correctly, that boy was Lobsang Rampa?

In one of Madame Blavatsky's books (sorry, I don't remember which now) published in the 1900s, there was mention of something similar to Lobsang's descriptions including those of a whole slew of things and inventions yet to be known to modern man. There was also mention of the "Great White Brotherhood", a conclave of Masters (people of great mystical development and attainment) in an enclave close to some remote monasteries in the Himalayas. One of the Grandmasters bears the name of Ku-Hoot-Mi who was said to have materialised his presence several times from afar at various important conferences of Theosophists and of Rosicrucians.

All this sounds incredible (or sci-fi - like) today and, no doubt, will be pooh-poohed as so much hogwash and bullshit. But lotsa' theosophists and other mystics, at the turn of the century, were firm believers.
