The chart at the bottom of page 21 of the annual report is a little suspicious in that it not clear the exact date represented by each point plotted, especially when you notice the shorter time frame in the Jan96-Mar96 interval.

If the last plot for the number of Zips shipped (~4.25 million) is for the end of December, then the current quarter has sold .75 million Zips prior to March 14 (the date they announced 5 million Zips sold), right in line with the 1 million per quarter average.

If the last plot is for the beginning of December (which it may be given the shorter interval mentioned above may be Jan 1 - Mar1), then sales for the current quarter may be on pace for about 750,000 Zips, which would indicate a slowdown.

I was surprised to see that drive sales per quarter have been flat. Revenue increase is apparently coming from the disks, not the drives. This is also reflected in the annual report:

"The company's business strategy is substantially dependent on maximizing sales of its proprietary Zip and Jaz disks, which generate significantly higher margins then its disk drives."

I'd love to see the numbers for disk sales.
