USA.NET Plans to Deliver Email Service for Wireless Phone Users
USA.NET Web-Based Email Allows Users to Stay in Touch from Their Phone.com UP.Browser-Enabled Phones
COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 16, 1999-- USA.NET, a leading provider of email and advanced messaging services, today announced that it plans to deliver email service for wireless phone users. USA.NET also announced it has joined the Phone.com (Nasdaq:PHCM - news) Alliances Program and plans to offer a new Web-based email service for the users of wireless phones equipped with the Phone.com(TM) UP.Browser(TM) microbrowser.
USA.NET's email messaging services will allow users to access email messages from both their Phone.com-enabled wireless phone and from any Internet equipped PC. Users will now be able to screen email messages right on the display of their wireless phones. The USA.NET service sends an alert to the subscriber's wireless phone as new email messages arrive, allowing users to read and respond to important messages even when away from their desk.
In addition, users will receive a full range of professional email features including full foldering and filtering capabilities, message length of any size, full support of multimedia attachments and more. Users can respond to urgent messages from the phone, either by entering a textual reply, or calling any phone number in the email message with a single keystroke.
