In designing a new product, I think everyone is forgetting that the OEM's have to further design a new product around the Geode. I suspect that it can be made to each manufacturers specifications which means changing some internal circuits to fit each product. If you click on the Geode version on the National page, you will see a video of what some of the things Geode will do. Notice there are 2 versions. 28800 & 56600.
Did this answer the question Paul raised? Are modems included? Links below.

I don't know anything about producing a new IA, but which comes first
the IA or the end product. Looks like you have to get your ducks in a row. Also. If these are in large demand, someone has to be manufacturing in quantities to satisfy demand. I read an article somewhere about someone else making the Geode for NSM. Looks like time is a factor here. Do you think Intel will come out with a IA and immediately have all of the manufacturers products on the market? I don't think so.

I mentioned on Yahoo thread that I believe NSM has reinvented the wheel. It certainly will put a kink in the thinking of many people. I remember the CEO of Intel saying it couldn't be done. Well, NSM put the design on silicon and it booted Windows the first time.

The X86 core is the key to the success of this product. Everything is built around it.
