Access anywhere, anytime is not limited to the US. I see here that Omnitel, "growth in the customer base which broke the 8 million threshold on July 9, thus confirming Omnitel's standing as the second mobile operator in Europe", is deploying a new Internet portal.

"Omnitel 2000, the company's new Internet portal (http://www.2000.it ), has met with great success, with an average of 50,000 accesses daily during its first 15 days of operation. Access to the portal through voice recognition technology and WAP will be available from July 20."

It would be interesting to know what they are doing with a voice based system.

biz.yahoo.com

By the way, clicking on the site, www.2000.it is interesting. It's full of very rich text, macromedia, etc., but at the same time you can see great potential for a mobile cell phone users, or AutoPC for that matter. It will also test your Italian.

Regards,

Mark
