The improvement I am thinking of would be in the company's financial stability and credibility with OEMs. The financial instability has distracted management and has demoralized the employees, and when AMD has production hiccups, OEMs drop them from product lines. It takes time to win the OEMs back.

With that I agree completely. Far more effective would have been to tout the merits of AMD as an alternative supplier and a credible manufacturer. But Mr. Sanders is not predisposed to humility and prefers the sweeping statement and sound bite.
