Altera sales hit record in Q2 with strong growth in Far East A service of Semiconductor Business News, CMP Media Inc. Story posted 9 a.m. EST/6 a.m., PST, 7/16/99 SAN JOSE--Altera Corp. here reported record sales in the second quarter as business in the Far East surged. The company's total revenues increased 23% to $197.8 million in the period, ended June 30, compared to $160.5 million in the quarter last year. Sales were up 6% from $186.4 million in the first quarter this year. Altera also said its net income grew 40% to a record $51.1 million in the second quarter compared to $36.6 million last year. Sales in Japan and the Asian Pacific region were up sharply during the second quarter, said Altera. Compared to the first quarter, Altera's sales in Japan were up 10% and in the rest of Asia up 24%. In North America Altera's sales grew 5% and in Europe they were up by 1% in the quarter. 204.247.196.31
