This should answer your question.

Our IPO of the week may not be the hottest deal this week, since it is not a pure Internet company, but it is a unique company with advanced technology that should be a good long term play. The company is the leading maker of DVD hardware subsystems for PCs and is now aiming to license its technology to the emerging consumer electronics market for HDTV and digital cable. By establishing itself as the standard in both PCs and consumer electronics, RAVISENT is positioning itself to capitalize on the inevitable convergence of the two areas which will transform the way people compute and surf the web. While revenues will be hurt by its move away from hardware and it is highly dependent on Dell, it has a leading stake in a large market.

The only problem is that this convergence may take some time to develop. Look at the current state of DVD. It is no where near it's initial projections for deployment.
