I'd be wary of 1st Silicon's ability to start up a state-of-art fab in the middle of a jungle-reminds me of Chartered's start-up. Almost no infrastructure in place. They were asking vendors to send little things such as PVC tees and elbows, available at any US hardware store, to hook up water lines. Getting things like semiconductor grade argon and nitrogen will take time.

Good for the semicap companies, though, in both the short and long term. It'll be interesting to see who 1st S. chooses for equipment suppliers-$.5B is huge in the timeframe they've stated.
