Carol!!!

Hard to pin this one down...... I derive satisfaction seeing that this release is written to address the salivation of scientists, but..... sense I don't have sufficient background in neuro, I don't know if the focused guys would be as happy as me.

Recent results indicate that stem cells can be isolated and expanded on a patient-by-patient basis. This could address my concern that there will be a chronic inflammatory response that results from transplantation of allogeneic cells (cells from an unrelated human).

If the company's past hype is correct and the blood brain barrier will allow for transplantation of those allogeneic cells without an "inflammatory" problem, then my concern is moot. I doubt this.

However, again....... Irv Weissman is probably calling some of the shots with respect to the "allo" issues. You can't beat that.

The issue of tumors will always be a concern until and if it isn't.

IMO, a great release. Simply a great release. I'm ready to see the clinicals begin. However, we need the opinions not only of neurologists, but of those who focus on the intersection of anatomy and chemistry. There aren't many of those sorts around..... they're all very busy.
