Hi Doug, I have taken a "play-it-both-ways" attitude with Broadcom. Actually, have calls and puts to cover my long position. I guess you would characterize me as a "nervous" bull at this stage. I also think the Naz and S&P are ripe for a correction, but, not until the Dow makes its gratuitous run at 12000 and then backs off.

Going short QQQ has crossed my mind a few times, and I was looking at the puts today. Just didn't see anything that I liked and felt waiting through MSFT's and CSCO's earnings would provide a good shorting opportunity.

Back to BRCM. My best guess: A rise to 150, possibly a gap after earnings, with some major profit taking afterwards. I am buying bigtime at 116 or better, but, really feel the stock is pretty fairly valued right here. There is the distinct possibility of a 2-1 split with earnings. Some may even be factoring it into their buying right now.
