A bit off-topic but I'm looking for some input and don't know how to start another thread Regarding Wash sales If you take a small loss and then repurchase the same stock, you're supposed to add the loss to the basis of your second purchase. So far so good. Does anyone use a portfolio manager program that will take this into account. Alternately, does anyone have a means of keeping track of trades like this. I've been told that this issue only comes up at the end of the year so it's a non-issue if you are in cash before year end. Is this true? Thanks
