To Matt and Jeffrey: Both of you are far more knowledgeable than I about the workings of these modems. I look forward to your posts in order to evaluate BOCI's chances of rising again in stock value. Something I did want to mention though. I have the Boca Research 33.6 modem, yet when I hook up to AOL my computer screen says "connecting at 38,800". How is that possible with a 33.6k modem on phone line? jdn
