As outlined in previous Press Releases, the object of the full drill program is to define an indicated gold resource for a 20,000 tonne bulk sample planned for the summer of 2000. Trench and core samples (sawn in half PQ size) were assayed by Northern Analytical Laboratories (''NAL'') of Whitehorse YT, using a standard 150 mesh screen fire assay method with AAS finish. A series of NAL checks including reanalysis of selected assays, and Barramundi check analytical procedures have been included in this program. Chemex Labs of North Vancouver, B.C, also performed check assays on selected samples. The gold-bearing V2 vein system (Swede's Pit) was intersected in 20 of the 22 holes, thereby confirming good continuity. The vein system remains open both along strike and depth. As expected, a strong nugget effect is evident in this drilling. The last six holes were drilled at the northerly end of the proposed pit and the results indicate that the vein appears to increase in thickness to this direction.
Significant new drillhole assays include:
Drillhole From True Width Assays ---------------------------------------------------------------- SP99-17 31.27 m 0.20 m 9.33g/t (0.27 oz/T) ---------------------------------------------------------------- SP99-18 23.10 m 0.20 m 61.43 g/t (1.79 oz/T) ---------------------------------------------------------------- SP99-19 11.23 m 0.45 m 45.15 g/t (1.31 oz/T) ---------------------------------------------------------------- SP99-20 30.40 m 0.64 m 97.96 g/t (2.86 oz/T) ---------------------------------------------------------------- SP99-21 24.87 m 0.66 m 386.6 g/t (11.28 oz/T) ---------------------------------------------------------------- (x)Note: 1oz/T = 34.286 g/t
In addition to the drilling program, numerous trenches and surface exposures of V2, V1 and V3 veins have been mapped sampled and analysed. Channel samples consisting of 5-10 kg of material were taken of the vein and its surrounding alteration envelope in order to determine grade. Specific grab samples were also collected to help define where the gold is being concentrated. It should be noted that the trench samples are considered more meaningful than the drill results as no sample loss occurs, a larger volume of sample can be taken, and representative samples are more easily acquired.
Surface exposures of the V2 vein (Trenches 1-7 and 9) consist of several trenches across the strike of the vein and its thin (1-3 metre) alteration envelope. A total of sixty-one (61) channel and grab samples of vein and alteration material have been taken from V2. Sample channels were collected on 5 to 8 metre intervals, however, where exposure is limited, one representative channel sample line was collected. V2 trench samples returned assays as high as 240.26 g/t (7.00 oz/T) over 0.35 of a metre.
The V1 vein (Trench 10 with a total length to date of 86 metres) and the V3 vein (Trench 8 with a total length to date of 98 metres) have each been exposed at surface along significant strike lengths. Fifty-four (54) channel and grab samples of vein and alteration material wix (66) samples from eleven (11) channel sample lines from V3. As with V2, V1 and V3 were channel sampled on 5 to 8 metre intervals along their length. The trenches were mapped in detail at 5 to 10 metre intervals, with each interval being given a letter designation (e.g. TR-8C). Significant assay grades were returned from both V1 and V3, with V1 assaying as high as 167.40 grams per tonne (4.88 oz/T) over 0.36 of a metre, and V3 assaying as high as 199.75 grams per tonne (5.82 oz/T) over 0.29 of a metre. A summary of the channel and grab trench results for all vein intersections, together with other significant results for all three veins to date (including some results reported for V2 in the Press Release of June 25, 1999), is set out below:

Once all of these results have been fully reviewed, PQ core drilling is planned to resume on the Swede's Pit area to infill the existing grid to a density of 20m x 20m spaced holes.
A 54 line km Real Section Gradient-arrayed IP (Induced Polarisation) survey has now been completed over the 3000m x 1500m detailed grid centred on Swede's Pit. This survey has been designed to identify potentially mineralised or altered systems at depths of up to 150 metres below surface. Several coincident resistivity and chargeability anomalies have been identified from preliminary interpretations of the IP data, and evaluation and assessment of this data is currently continuing.
When this has been completed, a 3000m core drilling program is planned to test the anomalies discovered last fall as well as the down-dip extensions of the V1 and V3 veins.
Full trench and drill results, together with a map showing trench and drillhole locations for the V2 vein, are available on request and the full results are also posted on the Company's web-site at www.barramundi.com.
