Hello Everyone.

I haven't been here for a while and wanted to check in. I got disgusted for a while because I was having to draw on principle for living expenses, and so until this week, have just been catching part of Squawk Box.

I know we're not really supposed to talk stocks here, but I have been *ecstatic* this week because a stock I bought in January due to a tip on Today's Business when they used to do that "broker's tip" segment just doubled this week! As a relatively new investor, sitting with my parent's portfolio of stocks, it is especially gratifying to see one that I picked myself gain so much. Almost better than sex! (Kind of makes up for the one that has lost fifty percent, but I'm holding for long-term profits--I hope.)

I've been sick all week, and so pretty much glued to CNBC when I'm awake. Ron Insana is such a sweetheart, as well as being so intelligent and articulate--I don't usually get to watch in the afternoons. Everyone seems more relaxed, including Bill Griffeth and Consuela Mack. Maybe the vacations helped? And Liz Claman is wonderful as always, as is Sue. Tyler and Martha are doing good jobs "sitting in". Delighted to hear about the expected new arrival for Joe and Penny!

I've got to add--seeing David Faber in that black jacket without a tie out in Idaho when he was there for the conference was ummmm!

I hope you are all having a wonderful summer. After I get well, I'm all psyched up to go out and earn more money so that I can invest more. Today I went to Amazon.com and ordered a book that they had talked about on CNBC about stocks under twenty dollars and I am looking forward to getting back to my reading.

Talk to you all later!

Laurie
