Interesting discussion: Mytrack vs. Qcharts. I'll post my perspective for what its worth. I used Real Tick III for several years and basically liked their package. Real Tick though is an outdated program that has been surpassed by many others offering a better interface. It is also a bandwidth hog. I looked for something else that offered L2 and quick executions in a better interface. I settled on Java Trader by Castle. It is a very intuitive, streamline interface. But you have to use someone else for L1 and charts and news etc. They provide mytrack and ATFI on the high end. I tried mytrack for a couple of weeks, but it was not workable to me. Everything is limited unless you pay more. Limited # of charts and symbols. The charts, even the upgraded ones were extremely limited with few features. Not even close to RT3 charts. The L1 was fair, but they don't display full 16ths and 32nds (they use s and t I believe: 3/s and 3/t) I didn't like the color limitations either. Their Time and Sales does not dynamically update so it is basically useless. (ever try to read the tape on a stock when you have to hit refresh on the time and sales?) Several other features of mytrack I didn't care for, it was just too different. So I bailed on mytrack and looked for something else.

After doing a demo with Qcharts (they do have a demo if you call customer service. most of it is realtime and some is delayed) I decided that was the way to go. It is so simple and yet feature rich that I am delighted with it. The bandwidth requirements are really low, I don't know how they pull it off. I also like multiple servers around the country. The data is very good, usually 1/2-1 second ahead of Castle even. They also give you the full ISLD book. I have read alot of the complaints but I haven't experienced any of those problems. Many of the problems are with the option chains and complaints about missing historical data on some of the charts for those doing serious analytical work. I would recommend Qcharts to anyone, it is a serious package. They have even started direct execution from within Qcharts with Cyber and Preferred trade. If there is something better out there, I would like to try it.

Sorry to ramble on. I just hope my experience will be worth something to someone. It takes alot of time analyzing new stuff.

Good Luck
Dan
