JohnG, you vastly underestimate the potential appreciation of QCOM stock... sure might get hit by 15-20% downdrafts at times between big events... but this is a dominant gorilla just stretching its arms right now learning to walk... soon it will eat competitors in single sittings, waylay obstructions with single stroke of the arm I believe you underestimate the earnings consequences from conversion of GSM to CDMA, advances in wireless modems and use with handheld PC's, growth rate of handheld PC's, upcoming craze in wireless internet webclip surfing, developmts in home/business wireless appliances coming soon, and imminent displacement of landline phones on widespread but not total basis none of these major trends has fully taken root yet, thus huge share growth coming in next 18 months... prediction: Feb2000 has QCOM = 350 this stock will appreciate 30% alright, but probably every quarter for a while / jim
