We did NOT talk about breasts. We talked about the definition of pornography. I know this will stun you, but my child ENJOYS being with me. He thinks I am very funny. And that his father is the most wonderful man in the world. We figure this will last only a very short time longer- until he gets a girlfriend and needs the car.

On the Fourth, he and his friends wanted to drive to North Dallas for a band and fireworks display. We vetoed it- not enough details and not liking the idea of driving to Dallas on the 4th with 16-17 year old drivers. There was the same type of show out here. His best friend's parents also said their son couldn't go and we all went to this other one together. The friend refused to speak to anyone, he was frankly HORRIBLE. The parents said he had thrown a real tantrum about not being allowed to go and had disowned them and wouldn't speak to them. Ammo was his usual wonderful self. We talked about it later. And AMmo said it seemed pretty silly to him-- to ruin your whole night and make everyone else miserable. He did say he would rather have been with his friends, so he's not entirely abnormal. But he's just practical I guess.
Then he said, "Besides I like being with you guys."

He came home the other night all excited."Guess what I bought!"
UHoh- other kids buy bass speakers for their cars, terrible CDs of loud music, awful clothes, gold chains, computer games....
He'd bought- a book.
"I've really wanted to read this one," he said.
DO you see why I'm depressed about my children growing up and leaving?
