This is a response I posted on PVII's site, thought you all might
appreciate it.

Let's Kick some ass!!!

On the thread for
PVII the question is who is the competition.

The major players in this arena are PVII, SporTVision, Orad and QSTI.
To my knowledge PVII and QSTI are the only public companies, but rumor
has it that SporTVision is seeking funding to continue development,
operate and possibly go public.

All of these companies have the ability to do virtual advertising. Of
the four Orad and PVII are the only ones aggressively marketing this
technology. QSTI and SporTVision have adopted the wait and see
attitude. Orad is the leader in this area. It has been generating
revenues with virtual advertising in Europe and the Far East for years.
Orad is an Israeli company and is the only one that produces virtual
studios.

For sports broadcast enhancements, all four companies play in this
arena. PVII entered this game when they came out with their version of
the virtual first down line. SporTVision hit the street with this first
with ESPN. QSTI actually got the first press with this concept in 1995
in the Palm Beach Post.

QSTI and Orad and SporTVision are the only companies that actively play
in the area of motion capture and replay. Lucent Technologies has
dabbled in this area, but only for corporate presence marketing
purposes, not to enter the arena. In this area QSTI is the dominant
player. They have thousands of hours of on air coverage in the US,
Canada, Europe, Asia and South Africa.

QSTI is the only company that produces true real-time virtual replays
for television. They currently have products for baseball, golf and
tennis.

QSTI is best positioned for convergence. They did the first real-time
data streaming for motion capture and recreation on the web. This
ability was first announced by them last December for a project they did
with IATV. Last tuesday they were the data content providers for CBS
SportsLine and Major League Baseball for their web casts of the All Star
Game.
