But make no mistake: Building a powerful intranet is not a low-cost proposition. Applications beyond basic publishing can be complicated to set up and require expensive, hard-to-find technical talent. For many firms, a promising option (especially for a small corporate legal department) may be to hire a "hosting" service, such as Interliant (www.interliant.com).
