I'm sending this message with no swap file. Had to close Outlook Express to do it. Nothing else is running and I have 64MB memory. With Outlook Express open ie wouldn't even go to a url. Closed OE and got to the url. Opened OE again and ie didn't have any Favorites and got an illegal operation and had to close ie and OE and open ie by itself. Now I'm typing this. >> norton would move the swap drive each time i defraq.<< I don't THINK Windows moves it every time in defrag but I could be wrong. Two hard drives is nice if you've got two OS's or if you need a lot of space. OTOH it's noisier, although I think there may be quieter drives out there than what I have. My next drive will probably be a WD 18GB 7200rpm ATA33/66. Supposed to be very similar to the IBM drives as WD licensed the IBM head technology for it. Storage Review says they look identical and their performance specs are very close. But the WD is cheaper. IBM's are known to be very quiet and the review says that this WD is too. My present drives are WD (3.2GB) and are rather loud (idling noise). I would also like to have my case fan and power supply fan turn off when the monitors and HDD's turn off in standby mode. Does anyone know if this is possible? Where's Richard? w
