Yeah... I saw that article. I guess I should have posted it here.

It will be interesting if they report such a theft, but considering that large thefts have already taken place (Mr. Frankel is a great example), and there are reports of various banks having been extorted by hackers penetrating into their systems, I doubt it we would find out about it with any degree of certainty.

The banks involved would suffer an instantaneous crisis of confidence with mass withdrawals. The Fed would step in to maintain its liquidity through cheap loans at the overnight window.
