Gary,

I finally found someone with more free time on their hands than I.

Thanks for the list.

I don't think that the 48 MB card selling for $100.OO represents a loss leader, because I suspect SanDisk makes good money on the card. The Internet malls shave down the margins drastically if you compare prices at retail outlets.

I was in BestBuy today and they have SanDisk 8 MB and 16 MB cards. I have yet to see a 32 MB card. I believe the 64 MB card requires a stacked set of chips. Eli mentioned that this is technically difficult due to the height of the SmartMedia card.

I really believe that Fuji and Olympus are risking the appeal of their cameras by betting on SmartMedia. I think some of the designs are otherwise awesome. And at this point I would consider buying any digital camera manufacturer as long as I could buy SanDisk flash cards for removable storage. Having said that, I still prefer CF because of its solidity and capacity.

Still can't find any Nikon Coolpix 950's anywhere.

Perhaps around Christmas time I will pony up for a new camera.
