Domtar Inc. has approached Avenor with a merger proposal.
Check out todays Canadian Corporate news releases by Avenor and Domtar. Domtar wants to enter into a 3 way merger agreement before the Avenor/Repap shareholders vote takes place. Avenor has declined and is proceeding with the Repap deal. What next? This is why the share prices moved today although I can't explain the logic behind these moves. Can anyone else?
