Jim, you are correct. Take this scenario. Thread "A" is a weekend type thread- only being used sat/sunday. It will probably be on the hot list EVERY week, even with a just a few posts , just as happened with MFMI like you said.
We need other top indicators like - posts/hour, or the thread that makes the most $$$ using WILLAIMS % R. ;-)
The current hot list is set up to detect an increase in posting rate, which is indicative of the swarming effect.
