Nostradamus, King of Terror and Comet Quatrains
Nostradamus, he wrote about 1000 verses in 10 books
(Centuries) of 100 quatrains each. Because of fear of persecution, he mixed up the
chronological order of the quatrains and used a mix of french, latin and greek words.
Add a dab of astrology, religion, ancient heros and foreign places to make some of the
quatrains become very hard to interpret.
Anyway, these are the 'comet' quatrains that I have looked at in detail so far.

C1 Q80
From the sixth bright celestial light,
It will come to thunder very strongly in Burgundy,
Then a monster will be born of a very hideous beast:
(In) March, April, May, June, great wounding and worrying.
(Not sure what planet or star is the sixth brightest celestial light ... The comet/meteor
will break apart over Burgundy in Central-East France with the largest part carrying on
into the Atlantic (See below).
The calendar in use in Nosty's day was the Gregorian one ... Based on that, calendar
dates above could occur one month later on our calendar in 1999. Comet Lee was
discovered on or before April 16, 1999 which would compare to March 1999 on his
calendar ... The comet went behind the sun Jun 21st ... The Kosovo war caused great
wounding and worrying in those months)

During the appearance of the bearded star.
The three great princes will be made enemies:
Struck from the sky, peace earth quaking,
Po, Tiber overflowing, serpent placed upon the shore.
(Clinton, Yeltsin, Chu will have a final falling out during the appearance of the comet or
bearded star ... Maybe they already have? ... Po is a river in Northern Italy flowing
into the Adriatic and the Tiber is a river North of Rome that looks like it flows into the
Mediteranean)

There will appear towards the North
Not far from Cancer the bearded star:
Susa, Siena, Boeotia, Eretria,
The great one of Rome will die, the night over.
(The sun will be near the constellation of cancer when the comet reappears Aug 10th
... Siena is a town north of Rome, Susa is an ancient site in Iran ... Boeotia is in
Greece, west of Eretria and near ancient Thebes ... Eretria was in ancient Greece on
the Aegean Sea side of Greece, fairly near the water ... Sounds like the Pope may die
during the appearance of the comet and after he changes countries ... see below)

When the eclipse of the Sun will then be,
The monster will be seen in full day:
Quite otherwise will one interpret it,
High price unguarded: none will have foreseen it.
(During the eclipse of the sun, the comet will be visible to the human eye during the
daytime ... new trajectory calculated?)

The great mountain seven stadia round,
After peace, war, famine, flooding,
It will spread far, drowning great [countries],
Even antiquities, and their great foundations.
(Stadia - An ancient Greek measure of distance, based on the length of a course and
equal to about 185 meters (607 feet). - Based on this, the diameter of the object
would be 1353 feet ~ 1/4 mile)

Near the end and beginning of the Rhone:
Famine, steel: the relief provided late,
Persia turns to invade Macedonia.
(The Rhone is a river that starts in south-central Switzerland and runs for 505 miles into
eastern France)

(Nimes is in the south of France, near but not on the Mediterranean. Artois is in
France, near the channel and roughly across and a little southwest of Dover)

The cloud will cause two suns to appear:
The big mastiff will howl all night
When the great pontiff will change country.
(Fires from the comet will burn for seven days ... the pope will move to another
country)

(Great Britain will be swamped by the wave ... Ausonia is an area in the Swiss Alps ...

(Some people think 'Mabus' is an anagram of the Antichrist, but it could just be an
important person ... Raymond Mabus was the US Ambassador to Saudi Arabia in the
mid 90's, but seems to be inactive now ... Could he be given an important role on short
notice?)

Shortly before the monarch is assassinated,
Castor and Pollux in the ship, bearded star:
The public treasure emptied by land and sea,
Pisa, Asti, Ferrara, Turin land under interdict.
(Castor and Pollux are stars located in Gemini, near the constellation cancer ... They
are on the edges of a box (ship?) ... I think the comet may appear 'in the box' when it
comes from behind the sun ... Pisa, Asti, Ferrara, Turin are all in the northwestern part
of Italy and are prevented from halting the removal of public treasure.)
