Hi Doug,
It's illegal and it may have been small enough to avoid SEC scrutiny. It looks to me like $100-150K profit for the persons doing this. I was ticked because the 3K limit order at 10 3/8 was mine (I had it reversed in my earlier response). I went down to the brokers office to track the trades on Bridge. This was nothing new to my broker who has 25 years experience. I just wished these small time scammers had more powder behind their scheme so that I was filled at 10 3/8.
