i'd like to see 'em abandon the whole freakin' concept. stranger things have happened. and you know it.

naturally they have to present an image of commitment to the project during development. company types say things like "90% of the feedback is positive". i'll tell you what, the people are not wrong. and 90% are not behind this. when people are behind something, they clamor for it! they shout about it! THERE IS NO DOUBT when people are captivated by something new. they can't get enough of it! am i wrong? not even. so show me where the high level of enthusiasm is? it ain't there, man. just a handful of folks trying to sell it. and i mean sell it.

but it takes real balls and bravery to halt a mistake. i happen to think it also takes something as simple as being honest with themselves. i mean, just who are these new members they hope to attract who have such radically different tastes and opinions than current membership? you know, the ones who are going to let loose with "3 ooohs and an ahhh" when they look at this ill-conceived format?

there's a wise old saying that goes, it's better to be embarrassed at the dock than to sink at sea. this saying has given me great solace from time to time over the years, and has helped me to remember the wisdom and righteousness in admitting i have been wrong.

SI is still standing at the dock... it's not too late.

:)
